More information on the study

This study is investigating a new potential medicine for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, which are open sore that is often caused by poor blood supply, damaged nerves, or irritation to the foot such as with ill-fitting shoes.

Current treatments for patients with diabetic foot ulcers vary depending on the cause of the ulcer but include improved foot care, better control of diabetes, not putting weight on the foot as well as medications and surgical procedures.

The treatment being investigated in this study is a dressing applied directly to the ulcer.

Key Facts About The Study:

  • You do not need to pay to participate in this study. Your travels cost may be reimbursed.
  • Subjects assigned to the treatment group will receive the treatment as the primary wound dressing for the first 4 weeks, and standard dressings will apply thereafter. The comparator group will receive standard dressings throughout the study.
  • The trial will also assess how safe the treatment is, and how well the body tolerates it and whether it works to improve the healing of your ulcer.
  • It will include male or female participants who have diabetes mellitus, aged 18 to 84 years inclusive,  and have at least one ulcer on their foot or lower legs that has not healed.
